"BROADCAST" "NOBROADCAST" "BROADCAST CHANNEL" "BROADCAST-CHANNEL"

Usage: broadcast <message>

These are channels reserved for specific purposes.  Messages on these
channels reach everyone who is monitoring them.  You must be at least level
five to use these channels. If you are caught abusing this command, it
will be taken away from you.

To prevent an excessive amount of messages, level 39 and below characters are
limited to one broadcast every 5 minutes. Characters level 40 and above are
allowed 2 broadcasts every 5 minutes.

There are a few guidelines to follow or your broadcast privilege will be
revoked from you:

1. NEVER broadcast the statistics of an item. This destroys the purpose
   of 'identifying' items. You are permitted to privately communicate the
   statistics of an item, but giving the information away on a large scale
   basis (i.e. broadcast, terminals) is strictly prohibited. You
   are allowed to broadcast the stats of an item IF YOU DO NOT include the
   name of an item (such as '+hp item for sale'). However, we expect
   you to have some common sense and not immediately broadcast the name of
   the item two minutes later. The reason for this rule is to promote the
   use of buying identification scrolls on the items.

     Good broadcast: Bob broadcasts 'mask of power for sale or trade'
     Bad broadcast: Joe broadcasts 'mask of power for sale, armor 3,
		   		   autoinvis, +12 hp, +1 str'

   You MAY, however, include the alignment and class restrictions in an
   item sale over broadcast such as 'broadcasts dark cloak (evil outlaws
   only), minimum bid 2k'. This is to save everyone trouble.
2. Excessive use of profanity is not tolerated.
3. Sexually and racially discriminating comments is not allowed.
4. Constant broadcast of useless material every chance you get (such as
   song lyrics, quotes, complaints) is unacceptable.
5. Publicly insulting someone over the broadcast channel that is not role
   play will not be tolerated.
6. Broadcasting where an item loads or on what mobiles it loads (or if
   an item has currently loaded) is strictly prohibited.
7. Broadcasting when a zone reset or where a mobile is located is illegal.
8. Broadcasting keywords for quests or special items is not allowed.
     (such as, "Bob broadasts 'knife of death for sale, say strike to
      activate")
9. Finally all the above rules work vice versa. ASKING for any of the above
   is illegal (ie, "Joe broadcasts 'whats the stats on a heat blaster?'")
   or (ie, "Bob broadcasts 'looking for a 4d4 weapon like a bow cannon'")

These same rules apply to all public channels, including public
message terminals.
