"MOUNTS" "MOUNTING" "TAME" "RIDING" "RIDE"

Mounting is a where one could ride certain creatures to be able
to travel long distances. Instead of the own Vitality being depleted,
the vitality of the mount is depleted. Traveling via a mounted
creature is quite useful, as the mount regenerates its vitality much
faster than a biped humanoid.

Although mounts are useful, there requires some preparation in skills,
before being able to effortlessly take advantage of them. Poor attempts
in mounting could provoke an attack with the animal, or simply result in
you falling on the ground and being hurt. Mounting depends on the
Riding skill level.

One must TAME a mount first before being able to mount it. Only tamed
creatures may be mounted, regardless of who tames it. Some creatures are
already tamed, however, usually able to be purchased in special stables.

Be careful in taming wild animals, however. Some may be provoked into
attacking you. The better your tame skill, the more success you have,
and the longer the creature remains tamed (up to 38 minutes, depending
on dexterity). Also, a successful tame depends on the charisma ability.

In addition to the chances of success in mounting, the Riding skill
affects how long one could stay mounted upon a tamed creature.
The better your riding skill, also, the less vitality the tamed
creature is drained per movement. Very highly skilled riders could also
rest and sleep on their mounts, and fight in mounted combat.

Mounts have their advantages and disadvantages. Of course, most people
would prefer flying over mounts because of the convenience.
