"STANCE"

Usage: stance

A skilled Jedi can attempt to form an extremely defensive stance with his
or her lightsaber (only) to hold off incoming attacks.

The Jedi will not be able to attack for a several rounds of combat or
be on the offensive, but will have a greatly reduced chance of being
physically hit (from lightsabers only) by trying to fend off every
single blow.

This gives time and defense for the Jedi to use the Force.
