"ABILITIES" "STATS" "STRENGTH" "INTELLIGENCE" "WISDOM" "DEXTERITY" "CONSTITUTION" "CHARISMA" Every character in Dark Forces RPG has its own set of its abilities. Abilities are classified in six types, strength, intelligence, wisdom, dexterity, constitution, and charisma. Abilities are often called character statistics, or merely 'stats'. Dark Forces uses a 1-18 scale for basic ability scores for characters. New players will have all abilities at 9 when starting out at level 1 (+1 strength bonus for male genders however). You will receive your real ability scores at level 2. To see your abilities, you must identify yourself utilizing a scroll of knowledge and lore or comparable item, for sale in large cities like Mos Entha. Strength determines how hard you hit, how much weight you can carry, and what weapons you can wield. Strength can decrease with age. Intelligence determines the maximum skill level your skills and Force powers can be practiced to. Also, intelligence helps regenerate Force energy faster. Intelligence also determines the success rate of concentrating on powers, learning new skills and powers, and studying new powers from books or other rare objects. Wisdom affects how fast your skills and Force powers progress. Additionally, some Force users, such as monks and the Jensaarai, will gain increased concentration ability with higher wisdom. Wisdom can increase with age. Dexterity helps you to avoid melee attacks (including bash, trip, kick, etc). Many skills also require dexterity to perform well, such as steal sneak, bash, etc. Furthermore, higher dexterity allows a somewhat higher rate in performing successful weapon attacks. Constitution is responsible for increasing your maximum health points when you get a level. The higher it is, the better hp gains you get. Also, it slightly affects how fast or slow you regenerate your health when resting. Lastly, if anything changes your constitution, you may find your character having more (or less) health points. Charisma decides on how fast most aggressive NPC enemies attack you. The higher your charisma, the slower their reaction times (does not apply to fast-aggressive creatures). Charisma also affects how large of a group you can lead, and how cheap (or expensive) your rent costs. Moreover, Jedi type classes who can create or persuade minions need higher charisma to have more minions. There are also certain hidden abilities in the game (ie Luck) which cover almost anything that makes your character different from the others, but only Administrators know how it works exactly. These abilities can be affected by items, powers, the age of your character, and several other factors.
