"TICS" "TICKS" "TICKERS" "INTERVALS" "CLICKS" "PULSE" Most of Dark Forces' game mechanics depend on certain timing, which are called tickers, or tics. A ticker is 60 seconds. 60 seconds in real life equals one game hour. Most game events occur based on these game hours. An interval is 15 seconds, or 1/4 of a ticker. Intervals are when the periods at which one regenerates his or her health, force, and vitality. Intervals are also known as clicks. A pulse is 4 seconds, or 1/15th of a ticker. One pulse equals one round of combat. Many skills and commands will cause a brief, deliberate lag to prevent excessive spamming. These purposeful short lags are measured in pulses.
